Well, it has been a while since I posted anything. Did I write lately that I feel like I'm drowning? Because I almost always do. Feel that way. Like I'm drowning.
But, that's not what I'm here to write about. Let's review last years lofty goals, and put up some new ones.
Last years level of failure:
1. Achieve a svelte body. Holy crap did this not happen. Today, Will and I went through my closet and the amount of things that no longer fit me, (because I'm fat and not at all the other way around) is more than heartbreaking.
2. Teach Chibi to wipe her feet. This also did not happen. Although, even on New Years Eve I thought to myself, "I still have time" but I didn't at all attempt to teach her. So do you really fail if you never tried?
3. Read 12 books. Read 12 books?! I read 20! I owned this resolution this year.
4. Stop biting my nails. Done and done.(ish)
5. Floss daily (round two.) This is embarrassing to even think about. Let's pretend that I've never resolved to do this until this year. And that this year starts on the 3rd.
6. Read and summarize at least 1 paper a week for my thesis. I don't even have a thesis topic anymore. Oh how far I've fallen.
7. Try to keep this dump clean. Also, get it ready to be sold. I'll say I half did this one.

My obscure references
I have many. So today I'll post one of them and explain it-
Pronouncing glutton as in the deadly sin, like gluten the thing that is in wheat etc.
Here's why I do that: I use to watch Rocko's Modern Life and in the episode called "To Heck and Back" the dark underlord named Peaches, tries to explain to Heffer that the reason he's in hell (or rather heck) is because he is guilty of one of the seven deadly sins, gluttony. Except Heffer is kind of dumb and he keeps saying "you're right, I am a gluten." When I was a kid I found that so darn funny. Still do obviously. Here's a link to that episode on youtube.

All that I think about.
The Road by Cormac McCarthyHere's what I'm learning from this book: The post apocalyptic future is scary. I like that this book doesn't divert into zombies. It's not like it's the end of the world, so now zombies roam the earth. It's worst! Humans roam the earth, and they suck. Kind of heart warming, scary, cute, unnerving, sort of book. McCarthy's writing style takes a while to get used to, but once it grows on you it's smooth sailing.

Seriously, I just keep thinking about how I would handle the apocalypse. I got to tell you, it's not looking so good.

Running Away
Having fevers gives you crazy dreams. I had this crazy dream last night. I don't remember the story order very well, but I do remember a couple of key elements that I looked up in a dream dictionary.
Here there are loosely woven together in a dream like sequence:
I'm kidnapped.
To dream that you are being kidnapped, denotes feelings of being trapped and restricted. Someone or some situation may be diverting your concentration and your attention away from your goals.
The kidnapper is taking me down somewhere in an elevator.
Descending in an elevator, suggests that you are being grounded or coming back down to reality. It also signifies setbacks and misfortunes.
We get to the floor and the kidnapper turns their attention to another girl whom they are also kidnapping. I look at the elevator door and see that there is a ladybug on it.
To see a ladybug in your dream, is symbolic of good luck. It also signifies happiness at work.
I quickly press the up button, get on the elevator and take it up to the main floor.
To dream that you are ascending in an elevator, suggests that you will quickly rise to status and wealth. You may have risen to a higher level of consciousness and are looking at the world from an elevated viewpoint. The up and down action of the elevator represents the ups and downs of your life. It also symbolizes emotions and thoughts that are emerging out of and submerging into your subconscious. Alternatively, the dream may have sexual connotations.
I get off at the main floor and run like hell toward the doors.
To dream that you are running away from someone, indicates an issue that you are trying to avoid. You are not taking or accepting responsibility for your actions. In particular, if you are running from an attacker or any danger, then it suggests that you are not facing and confronting your fears
I reach the doors and run out and feel like, "thank god, I've escaped," and then I wake up.
To dream that you escape from jail or some place of confinement, signifies your need to escape from a restrictive situation or attitude. Alternatively, it suggests that you are refusing to face your problems. You are avoiding the situation, instead of confronting them.
The end.

Viral Infection
I'm sick. I've had a fever since Monday night. Well, I first checked it Monday night, but I probably had it earlier. I staid home Monday because I thought I was dying. After laying around all day in obscurity, and having my fever reach 103.4, I asked Will to take me to the emergency room. I was pretty sure that I had an ear infection. We were in the emergency room for HOURS! But when they finally saw me the Doctor said I have a viral infection, a.k.a. swine flu. No seriously, she said swine flu. The doctor said that they've been seeing a lot of people with the same symptoms but that the hospital is not sending blood to the cdc to confirm swine flu cases because unless I have a compromised immune system I'm gonna be alright. She gave me some horribly painful shot, a prescription and sent me on my way. So, I'm out from work for the next couple of days. I'm laying on the couch, languishing somewhere between asleep and awake, hot and cold, throwing up and stuffing my face. Fun.
Not to mention, I'm SO BORED. I can't deal with being sick. I want to do things, but as soon as I get up and start moving around, I just want to lay back down. I don't even have a book to read.

Back in time
I'm trying to make more time in my life to do things.
I haven't done anything yet.
Here's a story about gay penguins in Germany hatching an egg together. As you can read from the article, these are not the first gay penguins to do this. Why, I wonder, are there so many gay penguins? Or do we just know of a lot of gay penguins, but not of gay other animals?
